As a destination wedding photographer, I’ve witnessed beautiful weddings in the most exclusive locations in the world. This micro-wedding was tiny in size but mighty in emotion. There wasn’t a single dry eye in attendance, including me (thankfully, I had a camera in front of my face.)
Ron and Maggie exchanged their vows on their 31st dating anniversary! They’ve been together 31 years, have two beautiful kids together. Their family has experienced extreme ups and downs throughout their relationship. Sadly, Ronnie’s 99 year old father passed away one week prior to their wedding but he was there in spirit. Pops would’ve wanted them to say their i do’s. His hand-carved wooden walking cane was present for the entire day.
The day, filled with sentimental details from their lives. Ron surprised Maggie with his mom and dads original wedding rings which their son, Kyle, presented during the ceremony. Talk about feeling all the feels!
Rons’ sister presented a hand sewn handkerchief that his mom made for her own wedding and placed in his custom suit jacket along with his parents wedding photo.
The ceremony, held in Brooklyn Bridge Park, DUMBO with Brooklyn Bridge to the left and Manhattan Bridge to the right. This is where it all started for the couple 31 years ago. A full 360 from where it all began.
We started the day with a coffee and getting ready shots at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge, walked the Brooklyn Bridge for some iconic portraits, strolled the cobblestone streets of Brooklyn and had a glorious day in the city. It was spectacular. Brooklyn is my home away from home so I already knew the lay of the land.
